The Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego County (TIPS) is an organization dedicated to providing emotional and practical support on the scene of a tragedy. It is made up of police and fire departments, cities, districts, counties, hospitals and other support agencies. Every year TIPS holds a banquest to honor those who during the course of their day-to-day activities take the time to show great compassion to the victims of crime or trauma. TIPS wants to salute the caring nature and the fact that those honorees went above and beyond the call of duty to help a person in need or distress.
